A "time of transition"
On 26th February there will be the Parish Consultation in the Parish Centre, Steyne Avenue, Plimmerton from 11am –2pm. In order for the whole parish to attend there will just be the 8am and 9.30am services at St Andrew's.
The Wardens write about the consultation process:
WE NEED YOU
to help us to identify what qualities we need in a new vicar.
Come to the future ministry consultation led by a Diocesan team
In the last 18 months we have worked hard on grounding the Diocesan vision in our local context of four churches, one parish. We have called our strategy ‘Going Deeper’ and have described our goals as:
- We seek to go deeply into our faith in Jesus Christ
- We are a parish open to the whole community
- We are a compassionate, fun loving and enthusiastic parish
- We are a network of diverse worshipping communities and ministries
As we move into 2012 we need to address the key question of what kind of person will help us develop our mission. During this consultation seven people will very briefly outline where we reached at the end of 2011 in the key strategies of worship, learning about Christian faith, connecting the parish, outreach, effective mission-based management of the parish, keeping a sound financial base and passionate spirituality.
Come, DEFINE, DISCOVER and DREAM for the future.
If you wish to share lunch afterwards please bring a plate of finger food.
