Kidz & Youth @ St Andrew’s             MAY  NEWSLETTER

What’s coming up in May!

Noah’s Ark Cafe & Craft Tuesday’s @ St Andrew’s   9.30 - 11.00am

A new tiny tots & toddler group started on Tuesday 24th April. Stories, song & craft; a chance for the littlies to be entertained & an opportunity for parents & care givers to catch up over a cuppa! Every Tuesday during term time! Koha donation. No bookings necessary.

3SA is on Sunday 20 May @ 9.30am  - We will have a new storyteller telling a really cool tale, followed by a choice of activities and bible discussions. All are welcome.

What is 3SA?  3rd Sunday at St Andrew's is a great new intergenerational service and a time for families to learn together in faith while having lots of fun. Each Sunday is given a theme and we gather together as a family for songs and a story told by the storyteller. We then head off into a variety of groups – these include awesome craft, adult discussion groups, drama, games, creative cooking and we always have crèche facilities.

To date we have made a giant Jacob’s ladder, dream catchers, gingerbread, palm crosses, sheep masks, put our fabulous feet in plaster cast and as footprints for an altar cloth. We also play games sometimes! We love having fun and getting messy. Come and join us, all are welcome!
Sunday School @ St Andrew's

Sunday school started back & the children have been doing an awesome job weeding & we created our very own prayer tree – the idea being that we fill it with ribbons that represent our prayers & concerns. We’re hoping to fill it by the end of the year but I have a feeling it may be full way before that! The children have also been given cool learning journals that will document their Sunday school learning – parents and guardians can help fill out their ‘profile all about me’ page & there is plenty of room for feedback & comments should you wish to make them. If your child hasn’t been given a learning journal yet, no worries, we’ll give them out week by week.

We gather as one family in St Andrew's church at 9.30am when we sing together and say our family  prayer.  We then go to the Parish Centre where we have a specially designed programme of faith learning, games, awesome singing and craft activities. Each week we have time for prayer and reflection and we read a prayer together for the week and then take it home so we can share it with our parents. We are also learning about virtues/values and have a new one each month. We re-join the service for communion and the final hymn.

Check out this month’s Kidz page from the Messenger

If you know of any children that would like to come along to Sunday school and try us out then please put them in touch, we have lots of fun and our learning is pretty awesome!

Hope to see some of you enjoying fun at St Andrews.

Jesus Jelly Bean prayer

Red is for the blood He gave, Green is forthe grass He made,
Yellow for the sun so bright,
Orange for the edge of night
Black is for the sins he paid,

White is for the grace He gave.
Purple for the hour of sorrow,
Pink is for the new tomorrow.

Amen.
