Vicar

Priest in Charge - Rev Jenny Campbell

Thank you for the great welcome and support that I have received from the people that I have already met in the parish.  I guess that many of you would like to know a little about me, just as I will enjoy getting to know you as well.

I have been involved with the church as long as I can remember, firstly in Nelson and Dunedin where I grew up and then in Blenheim where I trained as a Registered Nurse. Post grad I trained and worked at Dunedin Hospital in ICU and Coronary care units.

My husband Ian, (vicar at Otaki) and I have three adult children, Joanne, Laura and Simon, and three grandchildren, two boys and one girl.

I have been a self supporting priest since 2000 mostly working in a voluntary way within the church. I have quite a bit of experience of working in co-operating and uniting parishes and was the minister of the Waikanae and Otaki Presbyterian church for three years and Priest Assistant in Okato in Taranaki and in Otaki for a number of years. I also served on the Anglican Social Services Board for 5-6 years in the Wellington Diocese.

I was among the first Registered nurses in New Zealand to become a Faith community nurse/Parish nurse, a role that still continues on today.

I very much enjoy working with people and hearing their stories.  Other interests include spending time with my grandchildren, music, quilting and reading.

At the present time I am expecting to spend Tuesdays working from St Andrews parish centre at Plimmerton, and another day that will be flexible and depend on the needs of the parish along with the Sunday services.

I look forward to meeting many more of you and working in the parish as we all seek to spread the gospel message.
