We have a robed choir directed by Graeme Ogilvie which participates in services around the parish twice a month and leads Choral Evensong regularly at St Mark's. The Choir meets for practice on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in St Andrew's. See www.rscmnz.org.nz.
The
Music Group, directed by Alison Pitts, supports the music in worship on
the 2nd Sunday of each month at St Andrew's, and also when there is a
5th Sunday in a month. Rehearsals are on the preceding Saturday afternoon
at 4.00pm.
Our aim is to introduce new music more suited to the contemporary services at St Andrew's, and to support and encourage congregational singing. We are introducing sung responses to communion, and innovative ways of using music in other parts, eg prayers. We encourage interested singers and instrumentalists, especially younger members.

The Youth Group is beginning to form a Band with Michael Bennington-Barr.
The musicians in the Parish can play instruments from the ancient to the modern!
St Andrew's and St Philip's churches have small electronic organs with two manuals of small range, the upper ones being mainly in the treble range. They also have a pedal board of one octave.
The organ in St Philip's belonged to George Bowey. For many years George played the organ for services there and at other churches in the parish. After his death, his widow Nan gave the organ to St Philip's.
At St Mark's there is a harmonica organ. It helps to keep our organists fit!
St Alban's has a fine Allen electronic organ with two full manuals and
a full pedal board and a wide range of stops. A small plaque on the organ
reads:

The installation of this organ marks the centenary
of St.Alban's and was made possible by the bequest of Mary Taylor
and the generous support of parishioners and other donors. |

In 2005 Robin Mitchell gave to the Parish a fine Yamaha electronic keyboard
which has a wide variety of instrumental sounds and combinations of these.
