Kia ora!
As
Vicar of this parish, it is my role to encourage everybody to discover
their ministry gifts and for us all to support each other as we do God's
work here. Coming from a background of teaching, full-time parenting,
and lots of lay ministry in different parts of NZ, I was ordained priest
in 1989. Much of the time since has seen me involved in ministry education
and training, and until 2004 I was based in Christchurch. Now I enjoy
paddling my kayak on the Inlet, going to movies here, and with my husband,
exploring the diversity of Porirua City.
In this parish all the baptised are on a journey together, discovering
that we are all ministers of Christ's love. I rejoice at what God is doing
amongst us. I dream of a transformed world, just and peaceful, where all
people will enjoy God's gifts because we who are so blessed will have
grown to share with and learn from others. Our parish supports Christian
World Service, Habitat for Humanity, the Faith-Based Unit at Rimutaka
Prison, and Arohata Women's Prison because we believe that the Spirit
of God is at work there - and we seek to be partners.
Arohanui ki a koutou,
Jenny.
